To qualify, the rose must show clear signs of failure to survive (e.g., brown, brittle canes, or no living green tissue). Seasonal changes such as leaf drop, temporary transplant shock, or winter dormancy are not covered, as these are part of a rose's natural growth cycle.

A beautiful and highly sought after Japanese Rose!

So I’ve been looking for this one to add to my garden for a while, it seems to be very popular and highly sought after as it always sells out before I get a chance to grab one. Upon discovering High Gardenroses website this year I was thrilled to see they grow and offer this variety. I shared this website with one or my best friends and she really like this rose - so I’d decided to order one for her as a Christmas gift. Hers was available sooner than mine as mine is still on pre-order. Thus was my first time ordering their small/med size and I’m very happy and am impressed with the size of the rose I ordered, I’m sure my friend will love it! I have yet to grow this rose in my garden but from what I’ve seen others say and their experiences with it this rose is bushy, prolific flowering, fragrant and healthy. The bloom it’s-self seems to be very old fashioned in nature, I have noticed thou many people saying the weather conditions upon which the buds develop HIGHLY influence the color of the flowers, seems like cooler weather brings out darker deeper purples and mauve colors while hotter weather will turn the blooms near pure white! Seems pretty exquisite to me I’d love to see the variations of colors this rose has to offer. This is my 15th purchase with High Garden and I look forward to their continued availability

    Hi James,

We are happy to hear that you are impressed with the size and quality of the rose you received. We are sure your friend will love it too! We can't wait for you to see the beautiful colors this rose has to offer in your garden. Happy gardening!

    plant turned yellow

plant was good size and nicely packaged when i received my plant,1 stem was yellow after i planted couple of days the whole stem turned yellow so i cut off that stem and after few days later the other 2 stem turned yellow, i am little disappointed i did contact with them they offered me a replacement if the plant not gonna survive i am very happy with their customer service very quick reply thanks!

    Hi Shakila,

Upon reviewing the situation, we've noticed that the soil appears to be quite dry. It's crucial for the plant to receive adequate water, though not to the point of being soggy, as this is essential for the establishment of its roots. The die-back that you're observing is actually a normal part of the process for a plant that is establishing its root system. We strongly advise against cutting off these parts, as doing so can unfortunately worsen the plant's condition.

From the pictures, we can see that your rose still has green canes, which indicates a good chance of survival with proper care. Please ensure that the plant receives sufficient water.

Should the plant unfortunately not recover despite these efforts, please do not hesitate to contact us again with an updated picture, and we will be happy to issue a replacement credit for you.

    Best regards,
    Argel

Is the blue moonstone Japanese Rosea good container rose

    Highgarden Roses

    Hi Mallory,

Yes, this variety can do well in a container as long as it’s given the right growing conditions. Choose a pot with good drainage and enough space for healthy root development, use high-quality well-draining potting soil, and place it where it can receive plenty of sunlight. Regular watering and feeding during the growing season will help it thrive and produce beautiful blooms. We hope this helps.

    Warm regards,
    Argel

    • In-stock: typically ship within 10 business days.
    • Pre-order: usually require an additional 6–10 weeks before shipment.

    • UPS 3 Day Select: 3 business days

Please note: Delivery timeframes are estimates only. While we make every effort to dispatch orders promptly, we are unable to guarantee exact delivery dates due to potential carrier delays or adjustments needed to ensure plant health. Certain roses may require additional time to reach optimal shipping condition, particularly during seasonal transitions.

In rare instances, shipments may be temporarily held due to extreme weather to protect plant quality.

    Can you postpone shipment?

If your weather is not suitable for planting, you can choose to delay shipment for up to 12 months at no cost.

Please choose a date on the bottom of the shopping cart before checkout to indicate your preferred ship month.

Are your roses own-root or grafted?

Over 95% of our roses are own-root, propagated from cuttings.

Occasionally we may offer a grafted version for newer varieties. They are specified in the product description.

Are your roses potted or bare root?

You will receive a healthy rose bush. The roots will be protected by plastic wrap.

We may defoliate and prune the stems prior to shipping. As a result, your rose bush may not come with leaves or flower buds. It will form new shoots and buds once planted in soil.

In winter months, we may elect to ship your rose with little or no soil as they are dormant.

What is the difference between S, M, and L?

We offer multiple sizes of rose bushes:

S: Your rose is 4-6 months old, grown in 4" pots.

M: Your rose is 1 year old, grown in 6" pots.

L: Your rose is 1.5-2 years old, grown in 8"-10" pots.

Individual sizes may vary depending on the variety of the rose.

What are the differences between florist and garden roses?

Florist roses are typically bred for cut-flower use — they have long, straight stems, large symmetrical blooms, and a longer vase life, making them ideal for bouquets and arrangements. Garden roses, on the other hand, are grown for planting outdoors — they offer a wider variety of shapes, colors, and fragrances, often with more petals and a softer, more natural look, but they usually have shorter stems and a shorter vase life compared to florist roses.

    What is your return policy?

Due to the nature of live plants, we currently do not accept returns.

If your rose fails to survive within the first 100 days, we'll make it right with a replacement store credit equal to the purchase price.

To qualify, the rose must show clear signs of failure to survive (e.g., brown, brittle canes, or no living green tissue). Seasonal changes such as leaf drop, temporary transplant shock, or winter dormancy are not covered, as these are part of a rose's natural growth cycle.

Please report any concerns within 100 days by emailing us with your order number and photos with the name tag. We will issue store credit equal to the replacement cost of the rose, excluding taxes and shipping. Store credit can be used on any future purchases, excluding gift cards, and does not expire.

Replacement coverage is limited to one replacement claim per order. Once a replacement store credit has been issued for an order, no additional replacement claims or credits will be provided for that same order.

Do you sell roses year round?

All of our roses are grown outdoors in Portland, Oregon.

We ship all 12 months of the year.

Roses can be planted at any time except during extreme heat or cold.

You can order your rose anytime and choose to delay shipment for up to 12 months.

Our roses are shipped semi-dormant in November, dormant from December to February, semi-dormant in early March, and non-dormant for the rest of the year.

    Do you offer in-person pickup?

Unfortunately we do not offer in-person pickup at this time.

    Are you a licensed nursery?

Yes we are a licensed nursery registered with the Oregon Department of Agriculture.

Are you affiliated with rose breeders or third party growers?

All roses on this website are grown by Highgarden Roses.

The names of roses and breeders mentioned on our website are used solely for comparison purposes.

Highgarden Roses does not own the trademarks for these rose names, nor are we affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by any third-party companies, breeders, or growers.

I sent a message but haven’t received a response. What should I do?

Please allow 1–2 business days for a response. In the meantime, check your spam/ junk folder and make sure your inbox isn’t full. If you still don’t hear from us after 2 business days, please resend your message or email us from another address.

Why does my rose look smaller than expected?

Our roses are own-root (not grafted). Grafted roses can look bigger faster because they’re grown on a vigorous rootstock, while own-root roses often start smaller as they establish. The upside is long-term: an own-root rose grows from its own variety from roots to canes, can be more resilient if it’s cut back or stressed, and you won’t get unwanted rootstock shoots. We also offer multiple sizes - our Small size is band-size, which is naturally petite by design.

For safe shipping and stronger growth, we may prune canes and reduce top growth before sending. Pruning helps the plant focus energy on rooting, and it also encourages new breaks and branching, which leads to a fuller plant over time. With proper planting and care, your rose will settle in, push fresh growth, and size up.

How often do you restock your roses?

We restock our roses every week. New plants are added regularly depending on availability and season. You can also sign up for a “Back in Stock” alert on the product page. Just make sure to choose the exact size you want so you’ll be notified when it’s available again.
