How your rose arrives

You will receive a healthy rose bush. The roots will be protected by plastic wrap.

We may defoliate and prune the stems prior to shipping. As a result, your rose bush may not come with leaves or flower buds.

In winter months, we may elect to ship your rose with little or no soil as they are dormant.

Your rose will form new shoots and buds once planted in soil.

Standard shipping is free for orders $100+, or $10 otherwise.

In-stock items are shipped in 10 business days.

Out-of-stock items may be available as a pre-order with an additional 6-10 week wait time.

Kindly note that in-stock and pre-order items in the same order will be shipped together.

Splitting orders may incur additional shipping fees.

At Highgarden Roses, we stand behind the quality of our plants. If your rose fails to survive within the first 30 days, we’ll make it right with a replacement store credit equal to the purchase price.

To qualify, the rose must show clear signs of failure to survive (e.g., brown, brittle canes, no living green tissue). Seasonal changes such as leaf drop, temporary transplant shock, or winter dormancy are not covered, as these are part of a rose’s natural growth cycle.

Please report any concerns within 30 days by emailing us with your order number and photos.

We will issue store credit equal to the replacement cost of the rose, excluding taxes and shipping. Store credit can be used on any future purchases, excluding gift cards. Replacement credits do not expire.

Can’t say enough good things about Highgarden. I’ve never ordered a rose online before and after an attempt with another company that took my money but never sent my rose, I was hesitant. But when I emailed them to confirm my order and ask some questions I was contacted the next day by someone who explained the whole process. Since then they have been AMAZING. My rose , an Ausjo or Jude the Obscure, arrived on Oct 1 in PERFECT condition and is now hanging out in the rose garden making new buddies! I am SO excited about this rose to add to my collection but was also scared. Again, sent an email with questions, got detailed answers, absolutely stellar.

Highgarden Rose for the win!!

I love how Highgarden roses website show pictures roses in different stages and they carry a lot of own root roses even ones that are rare and retired. The website is so user friendly. I purchased over 30 roses in the last 2 years and only one died upon arrival. The customer service is wonderful; I normally get a response same day or next day. If the rose die upon arrival, they normally give you merchandise credit. They were also nice enough to also give me merchandise credit when some of my roses failed months later. So just contact them first before writing a negative review about them. I like that most of my roses still had leaves or had new growth to them and you get to choose the size. I recommend getting the medium or large since the small is very small and would need a lot of attention. My most recent orders of Aushunter, Ausstew, Auswill ,Ausimmon were so healthy and full of leaves with multiple stems and bigger than David Austin 2-quart roses. I totally one hundred percent recommend Highgarden roses.

Where do you ship to?

We ship to all 50 states within the US from our licensed nursery in Portland, Oregon.

Due to restrictions on plant export, we do not ship outside of the US at this time.

How much does shipping cost?

We offer free standard USPS Ground Advantage shipping for orders over $100.

For orders less than $100, a flat fee of $10 will be applied.

How soon will I receive my order?

In-stock roses are typically shipped within 10 business days. Out-of-stock varieties may be available as pre-orders with an additional 6–10 week wait time.

Kindly note that in-stock and pre-order items in the same order will be shipped together. Splitting orders may incur additional shipping fees.

Once shipped, transit time is typically:

Are your roses own-root or grafted?

Over 95% of our roses are own-root, propagated from cuttings.

Occasionally we may offer a grafted version for newer varieties. They are specified in the product description.

All of our roses are grown outdoors in Portland, Oregon.

We ship all 12 months of the year.

Roses can be planted at any time except during extreme heat or cold.

Our roses are shipped semi-dormant in November, dormant from December to February, semi-dormant in early March, and non-dormant for the rest of the year.

Do you offer in-person pickup?

Unfortunately we do not offer in-person pickup at this time.

Are you a licensed nursery?

Yes we are a licensed nursery registered with the Oregon Department of Agriculture.

Are you affiliated with rose breeders or third party growers?
